Join us for the 6th annual Sacramento Giant Race presented by Alaska Airlines! This year we’re going virtual. What better way to celebrate the return of Rivercats baseball than by virtually running or walking with us to show your support for the team as they get back to the field. No travel necessary – run when you want, where you want as we head into race weekend on April 24th, 2021. By signing up for the 5K or 10K, you will receive a 2021 Sacramento Giant Race finisher’s medal, commemorative race bib and (new this year) limited edition hat – stay tuned for the style reveal! All items will be shipped straight to your door. Run or walk the distance of your choice and see how you rank amongst your fellow racers. Plus, the sooner you register, the more money you save! Early bird pricing is live and will escalate the closer we get to race day. We’ll meet you at the (virtual) finish line!
Exclusive for 2021, each Giant Race will include a new hat giveaway for all participants. Stay tuned as we reveal the hat design for Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco throughout the year. BONUS: if you register for all four Giant Races, you will receive the 2021 Series Sweep award – a limited edition backpack.

Looking to go the extra mile? Check out our 2021RUN Monthly Fitness Series for additional run/walk challenges, collectible pins, insider tips, quarterly experiences and more. Registration for this series includes entry for all four Giant Races and the Series Sweep award!

FAQ's
What swag do I get for signing up?
By signing up for each race, you will receive a finisher’s medal, commemorative race bib and (new this year, instead of shirts) a limited edition hat! Hat styles will differ at each series stop and be revealed as we get closer to race day. Plus – register for San Francisco and you’ll reserve your 2021 Player Bobblehead (we’re excited about this one). All items will be mailed directly to you.
Virtual Race? What’s that?
Simple – just run when you want and where you want (safely and socially distanced of course).
What if the race becomes in-person, can I still participate?
We made the decision to host virtual races for the 2021 Scottsdale, Sacramento, San Jose, and San Francisco Giant Races. We are mindful of the health & safety of our community and if we are able to offer a safe in-person running experience for the 2021 San Francisco Giant Race, you will be sure to hear about the opportunity to upgrade.
If I run by myself, how do I prove it to you?
First off, we totally trust you to complete your distances. But if you want, you can post your results on our results page. We have an entire page dedicated to instructions, FAQ’s, and information about how to use RunKeeper, a runner’s tracking app, or manually post your race results. If running technology-free is your style, it is never a requirement to share your results with us, we’ll still send you your swag. Click here to learn more about RunKeeper.
Where do I run/walk this event?
You can run/walk on the route of your choosing. Please remember to avoid running in large groups and wear a mask when appropriate!
Do I have to run?
Of course not. Running, walking, skipping, jogging, etc. are all acceptable! Driving and flying, while hilarious, do not qualify nor is encouraged.
When do I complete my race?
There is no time limit to complete your race. However, we do specify race dates for structure, “deadlines”, and to train for! Submitting your completed race results is optional, but we encourage you to do so!
I don’t live in the United States, can I still participate?
Of course! Anyone is welcome to participate. However, anyone residing outside of the United States is required to pay for shipping costs of your well deserved swag. If you do live outside the United States, you will be able to select and settle that during registration.
What if I move?
Email us at info@giantrace.com by Race Date to ensure you receive your swag at the correct address.
Why should I sign up?
Because, why not?
