The Giant Race Presented by Alaska Airlines Announces San Francisco Race on August 20-21, 2022

May 24, 2022 (San Francisco, Calif.): The Giant Race in partnership with Alaska Airlines is thrilled to announce the 13th Annual San Francisco Giant Race will be held on Sunday, August 21. This year, the Giant Race is offering 5K and 10K live race events, with a virtual option for those who cannot attend the race in person.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN AT GIANTRACE.COM

The Giant Race will also host a Health and Wellness Expo that highlights the renewed focus and commitment to both mental and physical health that the race embraces. The Expo will include packet pickup, a Kids & Family Race activation on the field and more on Saturday, August 20. Participants are encouraged to attend the entire weekend’s activities to get the full race experience.

The Giant Race is a San Francisco staple run that allows runners to finish on the field at iconic Oracle Park, home of the defending National League West Division champion San Francisco Giants. All participants, live and virtual, will receive an exclusive bobblehead, finishers medal, race shirt and commemorative race bib.

For 2022, San Francisco Giants first baseman, All-Star, World Champion and self-proclaimed “Captain,” Brandon Belt, will be featured as the runner bobblehead in his classic captain’s pose, wearing a maritime hat and with the memorable “C” taped on his jersey and symbolized with his hand.

For the first time, The Giant Race will be offering Buy One, Get One (BOGO) Giants game tickets to ALL registrants, redeemable for select games this season. For those wanting the full race experience, The Giant Race is also offering an exclusive VIP add-on that includes a pre-race fitness class at the Expo, fast pass for packet pickup lines and access to a premium runner’s lounge and private restrooms at Oracle Park on race day.

“We are excited to offer in-person events that reflect our commitment to health and wellness and give our fans a chance to come together in 2022,” said Giants Enterprises Vice President Joey Nevin. “This signature event is a touchstone for many, and a true celebration of our running community, fans and partners. We are thrilled to continue The Giant Race’s historic tradition at home in San Francisco.”

This year’s race course will give runners the chance to enjoy beautiful surroundings and pass by iconic San Francisco landmarks along the Embarcadero, take in scenic views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge, and finish on the field at Oracle Park. Participants are encouraged to take advantage of early-bird pricing, available for a limited time only.
